Robert Percy Composer

'Robert Percy’s music is distinctive. It draws upon the natural world, the human world, as well as the musical world. It finds inspiration in the pattern of human speech, or in the rhythm of a wind chime, or in a blackbird's song. His music is for orchestra, ensemble, soloist, mixed media, choir and other voices. It imitates and hints at things. It repeats and varies. It explores interactions between textures, gestures, and musical instruments, like competing or conversing personalities. Sometimes his music is gentle, sometimes comical.Robert Percy's Piano It takes recorded sound, in the raw, and organizes it, communicates with it. It can be exuberant, and it can also be poetic.'   Philip Watson
